ABOUT US

ENSURING A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR LEADERS OF TOMORROW.

HMU is a non-profit company whose

primary purpose is to provide grade 12 learners (especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds) with information to enable them to apply for tertiary to further their studies post-matric. We also visit some schools to introduce learners to our website, assist those who contact us through our social media platforms and email.

The organization was registered in late 2017 but started operating in 2018. The birth of the organization came after the chairperson/president of the organization, Dr Lehlohonolo Ntlatlapo, realized that there are some young people who would’ve liked to further their studies but were unable to do so due to lack of information to equip them enough to start applying. What most individuals don’t realize is that, in the townships and rural areas, there are a lot of misconceptions surrounding tertiary applications and who qualifies. Many learners either get misinformed, discouraged or simply have no clue where to even start looking for information. It is this gap that HMU aims to help close through joining the already existing organizations with a similar goal.

Our vision

  • To see more South Africans being more informed about the opportunities that lie ahead, with emphasis on rural and township youth.

Objectives

  • Our main objective is to provide information/resources for the youth of South Africa during (senior) high school and post-matric to further their studies.

  • Our secondary objective is to work in collaboration with other organizations that provide youth empowerment and development.
